Step-by-Step Process to Use Duplicate File Finder and Cleaner
Download & Install the Duplicate File Finder and Remover Tool..
Choose any one among:
- Duplicate or Similar Photos: for similar detection.
- Duplicate Files or Documents: for removing and detecting duplicate files.
Select a mode based on:
- All Files: Scans every file in the folders.
- Custom File Scan: Scans only specific files like Documents, Music, Videos, Images, or Archives.
Add files by using the Drag & Drop feature or by clicking the " Click Here button to browse and select folders.
Customize using the available options:
- File Protection: Exclude desktop, hidden, and system files from scanning.
- Date Filters: Scan files based on creation or modification dates.
- Size Filters: Include or exclude files smaller or larger than a chosen size.
Select Scan Whole Computer to run an entire system and find duplicates.
Activate the Extension-Based Scan option to locate duplicate files based on their file extensions.
Click Start Scan to begin the scanning process.
The software will display two options:
- Auto Remove: Automatically deletes duplicates.
- View Detailed Results: Displays a detailed list of all duplicate files.
View Detailed Results to see categorized duplicate files for easier selection.
Select the Duplicate option to manage which files to keep or remove:
- Retain Oldest Files:Keeps the earliest version and marks newer versions for deletion.
- Retain Newest Files: Keeps the latest version and marks older versions for deletion.
- Clear All Selections: Deselects all files, allowing you to manually select duplicates.
Choose an action to handle selected duplicates:
- Permanently Delete: Remove files completely.
- Move to Bin: Remove files completely.
- Move to Folder: Move duplicates to a chosen folder for review or backup.
Lastly, use the Export Result option to save the scan report.
