Visit the official website of CloudMigration and download the Yahoo Backup Tool. Install the application and run it as administrator.
Enter your Yahoo login credentials (username and password) and click on the Sign-in button. While entering the password, use the third-party app password instead of the regular password.
After that, you will see the preview of your Yahoo mailbox account. Select the desired mailbox folders and click Next to proceed further.
Now, choose the required file format and email client in the Save/Backup/Migrate As field. Expand the option to check the list of available options.
Follow the steps below to download your Yahoo mailbox as a PST file
Select PST file format from the list to save your Yahoo mailbox in PST file format.
After choosing the resultant file format, tick the Remove Duplicate Mail option to eliminate all the duplicate mailbox items.
The Maintain Folder Hierarchy option allows you to maintain the correct order of mailbox items. By default, this option is kept enabled.
You can delete all the selected Yahoo mailbox items from the server by enabling the Free up Server Space option.
After that, select Skip Previously Migrated Items options. This feature helps you leave all the mailbox items you migrated earlier using this application.
If you want to exclude email attachments from migration, tick the Migrate or backup emails without attachment files feature. So, you can create a precise and accurate backup.
To reduce the size of Output PST files, you can enable the split Resultant PST option. It divides the resultant PST file into smaller files as per your requirement.
The Set Backup Schedule option allows you to create the backup regularly. Tick this option and set the desired date, time, and frequency for backup.
The advanced Mail Filter option enables you to create backup emails of a specific date range. Opt for this option and enter the appropriate Start Date and End Date to define the date range.
Next option is the Custom Folder Name feature. Using this feature, you can give any custom name to the folder containing the resultant file. Thus, select this option and assign any specific name in the field.
After that, you have to define the destination path to the output file. Click on the Path to Save button and choose a particular saving location. The predefined saving location is set to the Desktop.
At last, click on the Convert button to start the migration of your Yahoo Mailbox to PST file format with defined add-on properties.
As you click on the Convert button, the tool will initiate the backup process. The time taken by the application depends upon the size of the mailbox.
After completing the process, the report of the conversion process will appear on the screen. You can download the report by pressing the Download Report button.
Also, if you want to repeat the process, you can click on the Convert Again button.
Below are the steps to export Yahoo mailbox to Gmail account
After expanding the Save/Backup/Migrate As a field, select Gmail from the list.
Now, fill in the login credentials like Username and App Password of the destination Gmail account. Click on the Sign-in button.
Next, you can select the Remove Duplicate Mail On basis of the To, From, Subject, Bcc, Body option. It helps you to exclude all the unnecessary mailbox items from migration.
The Maintain Folder Hierarchy option is kept enabled by default. It maintains the structure of your mailbox unaltered.
If you want to delete the migrated emails from your mailbox server, tick the Free up Server Space option.
For incremental backup, the tool has the skip previously migrated items option. This feature allows you to migrate only new emails and skip emails that you migrated earlier.
The next option is Migrate or Backup Emails without Attachment Files. It allows you to download only necessary email items and leave all the attachment files.
After that, you can add a schedule for migration by selecting the Set Backup Schedule option.
Tick the Mail Filter option and add a specific Start Date and End Date. It is a date range filtering option that helps you to backup only selective mailbox items.
Also, you can assign any custom name to the folder containing the resultant file. Select the Custom Folder Name option and enter the desired name.
Finally, click on the Convert button to initiate the migration of the Yahoo Mailbox to the Gmail email account.
The time required to complete the migration depends upon the size of your Yahoo mailbox.
After finishing the process, click on the Download Report button to save the migration report in CSV file format.
Also, you can repeat the process by pressing the Convert Again button.
